A non-profit research project ultimately seeking to help enable educationally disadvantaged students and their communities with access to higher education. Through critical information studies research, we aim to identify the differing epistemic traditions affecting many disadvantaged college-bound students. Exploring the conditions under which these types of students have to struggle reveals the current epistemic and ontological cleavages between them and the academy. These cleavages ultimately hinder such students from successfully pursuing a higher-education and have yet to be addressed. This is an ongoing endeavor of which the core body of work will create the philosophical foundation of Navigo Amnis.
